TACOS ARE NOW ON OLD WORLD THIRD!
Sean Pliss, former owner of Oak Lounge in Milwaukee's historic Third Ward, is bringing another new concept to what he thinks is Milwaukee's premier entertainment district. Pliss is in the middle of remodeling the 5000 square-foot space into what he describes as a hybrid concept of tacos and sports with an exciting and fun night life component. Once the new arena was announced, Pliss set his sights on Third Street for a possible new venture.
"This area of downtown Milwaukee is evolving in a positive and responsive manner. With developments from the Milwaukee Bucks and other Milwaukee movers and shakers, I felt the time was right to bring something fresh and new to the area to complement and enhance the other great businesses on the street”
The name 'Matador' was chosen as a reference to the rivalry between the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls due to the proximity of the Milwaukee Bucks arena. "Obviously every time the Bucks play the Bulls they want to beat them, the same way a matador does” says Pliss.
